Anthony Joshua was born on the 15th of October 1989 in Watford to Nigerian parents. He spent part of his childhood in Nigeria before returning to the UK, aged 12.
Clean Herts Community (CHC) is a grassroots organisation dedicated to empowering young people and families through free community programmes, creative workshops, and inclusive events that inspire, uplift, and bring people together.
CHC was founded in 2021 by world champion boxer Anthony Joshua as a way to give back to the very communities that shaped him. Growing up in Watford, he was surrounded by a strong, supportive network that guided him towards his boxing career and personal success.
Through CHC, Anthony aims to create similar opportunities for the next generation—both in and outside of sport. By providing essential aid, community projects, and pathways to success, CHC is committed to uplifting and empowering people across Watford and Hertfordshire.

Anthony Joshua's life story
Anthony Joshua was born on the 15th of October 1989 in Watford to Nigerian parents. He spent part of his childhood in Nigeria before returning to the UK, aged 12.
His main reason for picking up the sport was the discipline it instilled in him in a time in his life where he needed focus and routine. He had a brilliant amateur career, representing Great Britain, winning national and international medals and culminating in him winning the Olympic gold medal in the super heavyweight division at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
On the 29th of April 2017, Anthony produced the performance of his career to unify the WBA (Super) World Heavyweight title to his IBF title as he defeated the legendary Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium in front of 90,000 fans. A fight widely considered to be amongst the all-time greats in the heavyweight division.
He was awarded an OBE and MBE for his services to sport in 2021 and 2013 respectively.
